Thin film panel adhesive: How to choose the thickness of the panel?

Release time:2024-01-18 Click:156

The membrane switch panel is made of plastic materials such as PVC, PC, PET, PMMA, etc., and requires customized numbers, letters, transparent windows, colors, or uneven protrusions. Production of protective plastic products.

Household appliance coating board has a beautiful appearance, clear text, bright color, and good sealing performance. Waterproof, deformation resistant, pollution resistant, high temperature resistant, strong adhesion, friction resistant, and sharp tactile sensation. Widely used in industrial household appliances such as medical equipment, CNC machine tools, electronic products, refrigerators, microwave ovens, electric fans, washing machines, rice cookers, water heaters, fume hoods, etc.

How to choose the material type of thin film panel?

The film materials suitable for producing panel layers are usually divided into PC, PVC, and PET. According to the surface, it can be divided into sand (three-layer semi transparent film) and smooth (transparent film).

The comprehensive physical and chemical properties of PC materials are good, with a wide range of applications. Ink and film opening/closing panel layers are widely used. The sand surface of PC material is different from the smooth surface. The reason for choosing sand surface materials is that membrane switches are mainly used in electronic products. As a control system, the panel does not want to be disturbed by light. Sand surface only has diffuse reflection, not bright reflection. At the same time, due to the presence of sand particles on the surface, it has the function of preventing scratches. On the contrary, optical surface materials do not possess the aforementioned characteristics. However, as a light colored material, the printing on the back will be more vibrant. There is a strong demand for decoration, even if you never touch it, considering the special requirements of the display area, such as LCD panels or LCD panels, choosing lighter surface materials is advantageous.

The price of PVC film material is relatively low, about half of PVC material. In the production of popular private products, the use of PVC materials can reduce production costs. Polyvinyl chloride material has good plasticity and can be processed by three-dimensional cold pressing. The normal thickness of PVC board on light surfaces is above 0.5mm, and all surfaces are protected by PET or adhesive paper. Most of them are used to make decorative boards. The thickness of PVC material on the sand surface is generally within 0.3mm, using standard board material without rollers.

The general performance of PET film can be replaced by PC film, so it is not common in panel materials. Except for special circumstances such as insulation, resilience, and solvent resistance, it cannot meet the requirements of other films.

The surface state of PET film is generally an optically transparent film. In a few cases, there are sandy products, such as KB product from Kimoto in Japan, but the sand is very thin and resembles the light on the surface of a desert. Desert light surface can be obtained on PET surface. Unlike PC sand, it is obtained through a sand roller during mechanical rolling, which determines that its surface is not as distinct as PC sand. For example, Autotype in the UK has a textured polyester sheet. The length of most coating films is fixed, but the cost is approximately 3-5 times that of sanding PC and requires user support.

How to choose the thickness of panel material?

Whether it is PC, PVC or PET, the thickness is often in double digits or less. Converted to feet equals meters.

Considering factors such as elastic resilience, fatigue life, and sensitivity, the normal listening thickness of the membrane switch panel layer is 0.175mm. At this moderate thickness, users can adjust the product's characteristics and appropriate range as needed.

The panel layer is too thin, lacks repulsive force, and the three-dimensional molding is not prominent, making it difficult to maintain a flat state over a large area. The panel layer is too thick, it feels dry, and the operation intensity is high.

What is the thickness of the circuit film?

The film is a circuit layer, and the thickness of the circuit material should be between 0.255mm and 0.15mm, allowing for reliable isolation of switch contacts, connector connections, or rivets. If it is too thin without repulsive force, the contact separation is not flexible, and if it is too thick, the action is slow and the operating force increases. From a specific perspective, the choice of film thickness is also related to the following factors.
